Congratulations to Jim Sears and Jef Amirian who were recognized for their contribution to engineering at the prestigious Engineers Council’s 66th Anniversary Honors and Awards Banquet over the weekend.

Established in 1955, at the dawn of the space age, the Engineers Council is the United States’ oldest continuously operating engineering council and hosts the country’s largest National Engineers’ Week Honors and Awards event. Each year the Council recognizes outstanding achievement in the fields of engineering, education, and special fields of work and public service.

Amaero’s Technical Fellow: Jim Sears was awarded a Distinguished Engineering Achievement Award; in recognition of his career dedicated to the investigation of countless new technologies in powder metallurgy and metal additive manufacturing, and for exemplary engineering leadership and mentorship.

Jef Amirian received the Future Technology Leader award in recognition of his efforts during the construction, commissioning, and qualification of Amaero’s first metal additive manufacturing facility in North America.

Ken Davis: Amaero’s Vice President of North America Operations is pleased his colleagues have been recognized for their work.

“I am delighted to have two of our engineers recognized for their service. Jim and Jef are valued members of the Amaero team and have made a wonderful contribution to our company and the advancement of additive manufacturing”, Mr Davis said.

“Jim is one of the country’s foremost experts in powder metallurgy and metal additive manufacturing. We are really very fortunate to be working with someone of his calibre who has such a deep understanding of and passion for the industry.

“I am also excited for Jef. He is at the start of his career and is already making great strides in additive manufacturing. He has a bright future ahead.

“This year’s ceremony looked a little different due to the current pandemic but I give the Council credit for organizing a great event. Last year was challenging for many companies but I am enthusiastic about 2021 and look forward to seeing what our team will achieve”, Mr Davis concluded.
